“What I love about CPC? Communion!”
At CPC worship is sacred and also open to the spontaneous movement of the Holy Spirit. The communal prayers of the people give worship a more intimate feeling, while the wonderful music program and Presbyterian order of worship maintain a sense of awe in God’s presence. In worship services at CPC we come together to listen and wait upon God, to give thanksgiving for God’s hand in our lives, and to offer ourselves to God. In worship we hear and respond to the words in the bible, knowing that Jesus Christ, the living word, is with us through the Holy Spirit. Whatever we do together in worship: singing, praying, listening, being led by children, youth and adults, we do it all with joy and thanksgiving.
“At CPC, I love exploring the bible to find connections to God… and discovering them in the words and actions of fellow believers.”
Worship Services: 8:30 and 11:00
What can I expect in worship? Our 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. worship services follow the same format and the same sermon is preached both times. The choir leads the congregation music for three Sundays a month at the 11:00 a.m. service and one Sunday a month at 8:30 a.m. Special music, both instrumental and vocal, from the musical gifts of the congregation are part of the music ministry as well. Congregational members serve as ushers, lay readers and greeters; this is a great way to get involved in worship at CPC! Children come forward for a children’s time at both services and serve as acolytes. Communion is celebrated once a month, typically on the first Sunday of the month.
|Psalm 59:16 “I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning, for you have been a fortress for me and a refuge in the day of my distress. O my strength, I will sing praise to you, for you, O God, are my fortress, the God who shows me steadfast love.”|
Christian Education: 9:45
What CE classes do you offer? We offer classes for all ages, pre-K to adult, to nurture each persons’ faith and devotion to God. Children’s Sunday School classes are grouped by age and learn about God’s word through stories, crafts, and games. Adults classes provide opportunities for deepened spiritual growth. Topics change throughout the year. Childcare is available for children younger than Pre-K so older children and adults can attend CE classes.
